Thankful

Thankfullness

Thankful, It’s a beautiful word and I believe it is a word that we should practice using every day. So many times we focus on the glass half empty rather than realizing when the glass is half empty it is also half full. This thanksgiving week I would encourage you to express your thankfulness about everything. Be thankful for even the little things in life. If you say, ” I don’t have anything to be thankful for then I am putting a list in this blog of things albeit little things for you to start with. I know it seems silly, but our perspective needs adjusting sometimes. This concept is straight out of the Word of God!

Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. Phillipians 4:8

I love this passage and I love how the amplified version just lays it out for us! Think continually on positive things, think continually on anything that is worthy of praise, think on pure things, think on things that bring peace to your heart, think on all these things and focus or center your mind on them so that they become implanted in your heart! Whoa! Please hear me this Thanksgiving week. Change your focus, not on what you don’t have, but focus on what you do have! Focus on the positive things in your life no matter how small! I promise when you do this your whole life and attitude will change! Your circumstances may not change, but you will live, speak, and think differently about them! It takes about a month minimum for this new way of thinking and living to become a habit. So don’t give up. It can take even longer if you are a really negative thinker and talker, but please renew your mind. Lets do this!
